There is a glorious array of material being brought into the office, so much in fact that we have no hope of including all of it in our special issue on June 11!
This week, however, we can give our readers just a tiny glimpse of some of the wonderful images we have compiled, and we look forward to including as many as we can in the feature.
When it comes to what we can’t include, there are plans to gain permission from the owners to pass the material onto the Bombala and District Rugby League Football Club to add to a growing memorabilia display.
This display will form part of the Centenary of Rugby League celebrations in Bombala, with the special occasion being marked on Saturday, June 14.
The historic weekend will kick off literally with a local derby match against Cooma and Bombala on the Saturday, followed by a celebratory get together and nibblies at the Bombala RSL Club.
Here all past and present players, committee members and supporters are invited to come together and reflect on the history of rugby league in the Bombala district and relive the comradeship and golden games.
The memorabilia display, which will include everything from team photos to original blazer emblems will be set up both at the Exhibition Ground during the game and later at the Club.
As more details come to hand, they too will be included in the Centenary of Rugby League feature in next week’s Bombala Times, which will also profile a series of our local players throughout the years.
Make sure you grab your copy next Wednesday, June 11!
