Wild dog workshops in south

Participants will also have the opportunity to have input into the development of their Local Area Control Plan (LACP) for wild dog control and management.

Local Area Control Plans to be developed will include Bonang/Bendoc/ Tubbut/Deddick, Buchan/Gelantipy, Licola/Heyfield/Maffra, Orbost/Cann River, Gembrook/Noojee/Ellinbank, Dargo/Bairnsdale, and Omeo/Benambra/ Swifts Creek areas.

DPI Community Engagement Officer, Vaughn Kingston says these workshops will demonstrate what the Department does and discuss how it can do it better locally, in partnership with the community.

“DPI and the Gippsland Wild Dog Management Group want to discuss how we can improve the partnerships in these areas by using all available control options and resources,” Mr Kingston said.

The workshops for the various areas will be held

• Buchan and Gelantipy: 10am, May 19,

Gelantipy Hall.

• Licola/Heyfield and Maffra: 10am, May 22, DPI Maffra Office.

• Orbost and Cann River: 10am, May 23, DSE Orbost Office.

• Gembrook/Noojee /Ellinbank: 11am, May 26, DSE/PV Woori Yallock Office.

• Bonang/Bendoc/

Tubbut/Deddick: 10am, May 28, Bonang Hall.

• Dargo and Bairnsdale: 10am, May 29, Dargo Hall.

• Omeo and Benambra/ Swifts Creek: 10am, June 02, Omeo Hall/Omeo Primary School.
