Local Government Elections -
Council would like to urge community minded persons to consider standing for election at the Local Government elections to be held in September. The term of office is for four years and if you are elected you will be involved in the decision making process which shapes our local community.
With the new mill on track, the prospect of additional families moving to the area and the anticipated improvements within the tourism sector it is a very interesting and important time to be on Council.
Community Plans -
The community plans for Ando, Bibbenluke, Delegate, Cathcart and Creewah are now on the Council website as part of the new Economic Development page.
The plans will be worked on and updated on a regular basis. Community members are asked to log on to the Council site and review the progress being made.

CTC News -
Bombala CTC staff are very happy to report the continuing success of the Computer Club. The club meets every Friday between 9am and noon with staff on hand to instruct in computer operation and answer all your questions.
Guest speakers often address the group. For further details give the CTC a call on 6458 3252.
The CTC are also after your old mobile phones. Collection boxes are located at both the Bombala and Delegate CTCs and they still need quite a few to reach their target. Funds raised will go back into the Centres for the benefit of the whole community.
Chefs of the Future -
For the last couple of months a dedicated band of community members have been undertaking a TAFE Hospitality course. This course has seen the students learn the finer points of baking cakes, breads and yeast goods, bar service, coffee making and a variety of cooking methods.
The final activity of the course is the preparation and service of a three course lunch, afternoon tea and three course evening meal for 50 guests. The class will be offering this taste sensation in two locations.
The first on Saturday, June 21 is at the Cooma TAFE Campus in the purpose built restaurant. A bus will be leaving Bombala to take guests up to Cooma for this gala event. Total cost of bus, lunch, afternoon tea and evening meal is $60pp, there are still a few places available.
The second offering will take place on Saturday, June 28 at the Bombala High School canteen, which will be specially decorated for the occasion.
Luncheon will be served at noon, cost $10pp, the dinner is already booked out.
Bookings for these fantastic days/nights out are essential please phone 6458 4622.
Tourism update
While Winter is normally a little quiet in Platypus Country as far as tourism goes, it is a perfect chance for staff at the Visitor Information Centre to do a bit of a revamp on lay out and also the brochures.
Work is currently underway on a history brochure for the area and we will also be assisting the School of Arts with a new brochure for the Delegate region.
In addition staff will be reviewing all the current brochures and updating all the available information and we will be launching the new Snowy River brochure late July, so watch out for launch details in the Bombala Times.
Planning work is also continuing re the Platypus Reserve, Platypus Walk, Sensory Gardens and Caravan Park.
