TIARA talents on show to aid two young musicians

With fellow TIARA winner, Lee Forster set to take the stage alongside Leanda and the Milliner family, the Multipurpose Hall filled with an eager audience, with a remarkable number coming from the Coast to enjoy the show.

And the praise for the concert was high indeed. Leanda thoroughly enjoyed the chance to show the local community why she continues to win awards, and Lee too delighted the audience with his incredible country music talents.

As always the Milliner family also had toes tapping, while the crowd was absolutely thrilled to have Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash fly into town for a surprise performance.

The fantastic country music was complimented by a lovely light supper, and everyone was generous in their support for the concert, which was held to raise funds for two Bombala High School students.

With Kelsie Long and Hermione Fairhall-Wald having been selected to play in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Orchestra, Leanda presented the concert to contribute towards the girls’ expenses in China.

Leanda and her performers were very pleased to be able to present the girls with an impressive $1,500 for their Olympic adventure, which Leanda explains may well lead them into a promising musical career.

Special thanks goes to Barbara Brasington and the Cox Petroleum group for their particular generosity, and to the community and our coastal visitors for getting behind the concert, which was certainly an entertaining fundraiser.
